1. HIGH SCHOOL 101 for Parents of Grade 9's Only - November 25 or 26 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the Flex Room at Bel-Aire School - Irene Welch, Guidance Counsellor at CBE-Learn High School, will come and help parents navigate the transition/registration process from Grade 9 into High School and answer questions.  Irene will walk you through the process from start to finish and you will leave having some insight into Traditional Highschool Pathways and more!  This is a must for families needing clarity around High School Options and Registration.

2. Create Your Homeschool Progress Report - November 27 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - How To Create Your Homeschool Parent Progress Report with Homeschool Parents Carley and Lyndsay!  Please join us in the Flex Room at Bel-Aire School for a workshop just for parents!  Have you been curious about how to create a dynamic Homeschool Progress Report to highlight your child's homeschooling?  The Government of Alberta requires that parents report on their child's success, challenges and growth in the homeschool environment.  Join parents Lyndsay and Carley for an entertaining and informative Parent Workshop on: How to Create a dynamic Homeschool Progress Report!  This workshop will answer questions such as: What is a Homeschool Progress Report?  Why do I need it?  How do I write it? Samples and Examples? Formats? Other questions parents might have along the way.  This is a must for families new to homeschooling and families looking for a refresher!  Homeschool Progress Reports are due to your homeschool facilitators before or at your Mid-Year and Final Homeschool Facilitations.

3. Alternatives to Traditional High School for Homeschoolers - Tuesday or Wednesday, December 2 or 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Flex Room - intended for families with children aged 12 and up.  Blended High School - Alternative Approaches to the High School Years:  Message from Susan and Shaun, Parents of Homeschoolers. This is an opportunity for those who are curious about alternative approaches to education through the high school years.  As homeschoolers, our focus for high school has been on helping our children to grow skills and experience rather than the pursuit of credits and a high school diploma.  This is far from a traditional approach and is not for everyone, but we have seen its benefits, and we are happy to talk about our experiences and share strategies to work within and outside of existing systems to build meaningful and useful experiences for our young people.  Bring your questions, your comments and concerns and let's talk about the great enterprise of education!  This workshop would be great for families with children aged 12 and up.

4. The Grande Opening of our FLEX Room - Thursday, December 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. -  Informal Drop-In! Join us for a coffee, some treats, some homeschool connecting and networking and an orientation to our fantastic Flex Room for Families!  Carley and Lyndsay and our amzing parent volunteers have put in countless hours creating the library for students and families at Windsor Park School and now here at Bel-Aire School.  Questions to be answered:  What is the Flex Room and How does it work in terms of booking, guest speakers and utilizing the resources.  We look forward to seeing you there!

5. Traffic and Good Neighbours at Bel-Aire School – Please do not U-Turn in front of our neighbours houses.  Please also do not allow your children onto our neighbours' lawns or fences.  For Pick-Up and Drop-Off --> Please drive straight down Bel-Aire Drive, turn left at Belvedere Road and left on Beverley Blvd to pick up or park in front of the school. Travelling in a circle will allow one direction of traffic passing in front of the school and will allow for the safety of our children and our neighbours’ children.  Thank you.
