We hope you will consider becoming a part of our growing music program here at Bel-Aire! Now in its third year, our Instrumental Music Program is open to all students in grades 6- 9.
NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! While previous musical experience is certainly welcome, absolutely no prior musical experience is necessary to join our Band program and experience growth and success.
When do we meet?
Band classes are held in the family flex room, and begin the week of Sept 16 – 20. It is not necessary to have an instrument for the first week! Times are as follows (students attend just 1 class a week!):
Tuesdays 8:25 – 9:20 a.m. Beginner Band (no musical or prior playing experience necessary)
Wednesdays 8:25-9:20 a.m. Beginner Band (no musical or prior playing experience necessary)
Wednesdays 3:20 – 4:30 p.m. Second year and beyond (players that have completed one or more years in our Bel-Aire band program)
*depending on enrollment numbers an additional second year and beyond class may also be added Tuesdays 3:20 – 4:30 pm. TBD
Any interested families are asked to please join me for an online information session on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 13 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm. A link will be included in a whole school email sent by Carrie Rowlandson on the morning of the meeting (Friday Sept. 13). It is highly recommended that all interested/ new families attend this meeting as we will cover all the details of the program and can answer questions as they occur. I also recommend continuing families attend the meeting as we have a few (hopefully) exciting events to discuss!

- Friday, September 13 12:00 – 1:00 pm online information session
- Friday, September 20 (exact times TBD) Start up instrument workshops! Students need their chosen instrument in hand by this day! (*very important to attend!)
- Friday, November 15 Band field trip to the Jack Singer Concert Hall – observe an open rehearsal of our Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra!
