Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences

Please book your “Parent/Guardian-Teacher-Student Conferences”.  You can find the conference booking platform through your MyCBE account.  The booking system will open for families to book conferences on Friday, February 28 at 5:00 p.m.  Booked conferences will take place on Friday, March 7 between 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. These conferences offer an opportunity for families: to connect with their child’s teacher, find out about academic growth and progress, learn about school challenges your child might be encountering and are an opportunity to share ideas about helping your child move forward at Windsor Park School.  If March 7th doesn’t work for you to meet with your child’s teacher, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher to find an alternative date.  Please Note: These are not homeschool facilitations.  These are conferences to discuss Windsor Park School Classes: Math, Science, PE and Art.  Book Your Conferences via your MYCBE Account!

Central Homeschoolers of Alberta

Did you know that there are many groups in Alberta bringing homeschoolers together for educational homeschool opportunities?   “Central Homeschoolers of Alberta”  shares information with families who are interested in their students attending live presentations and theatre performances. The group also arranges field trips for families to various other places such as museums, historical sites and more.  This is not a Calgary Board of Education endorsed group but an independent team bringing home educating families together from across Alberta.  You can email Linda to get on the “Central Homeschoolers of Alberta List-Serve” at caheinfo@gmail.com

Celebration of Learning | March 14

Friday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Our Celebration of Learning is an opportunity to come together as a homeschool community and share all of the incredible learning that occurs in homeschool environments!   Please do register now!  The original link asked for permission to gain access to the registration form but that has been fixed now.

What is the Celebration of Learning? This is an opportunity for students to demonstrate some of the very interesting ventures with which they have been involved this year in their homeschool environment(s).  “It’s like a science fair but can be focused on ANY topic” (art, poetry, science, economics, sport, technology, engineering, history, politics, geography, math). Examples from past years include: Robotics demonstrations, Coding demos, poetry sharing, explanations and demonstrations of Greek history, live sketching of portraits to demonstrate drawing abilities, shared insights on the new age of computers, displayed works of art, sharing of research findings, architectural studies, religious studies, musician demos, fashion shows. The sky is the limit! Students can choose to share any project/area of study! Families, friends, teachers and students will write little notes of encouragement at the tables they visit; a nice memento of the day for participants to take home with them.    Register Here!
