Homeschoolers, Shared Responsibility and our Concurrent Families! Welcome to the new school year. We are beyond excited to meet you and greet you into our school community. To our families returning, it will be great to catch up and hear about your summer adventures and to our new families, we are excited to introduce you to our incredible network of extraordinary people - Parents, Guardians, Educators, STUDENTS. Welcome!
Some important dates and events coming up! Please SAVE these dates and mark them on your home calendar.
Friday, September 6 - Welcome Back Celebration - 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Drop-In The Welcome Back Celebration has one main goal. The goal is to Foster A Sense of Community! Please come and meet some new families and re-connect with families you know. Students, please enjoy saying hello to your new teachers and checking out your classrooms. There will be some activities set up to get you oriented to the new school year. This is a day to really just enjoy and have fun! EVERYONE is invited!
Monday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 11 - First Days of School. 9:30 a.m. Start and 3:15 p.m. Pick-Up. Watch for emails from your classroom teachers with details about your child's first day. There will be assemblies for parents/guardians 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. on these days with more information about the school year (Reimbursements, Facilitations, Sports, Band, School Council, Digital Citizenship).
Sept. 23, Nov. 21, Jan. 13, March 20, May 12 - School Council Meetings for parents and guardians from 10-11:00 a.m. Detailed agendas and minutes with be sent in advance.
August 29 - October 20 - Cross-Country Running Season for Grades 6-9. Email Jaylyn Potts at japotts@cbe.ab.ca for more information. Jaylyn will have an information package (Dates, Times, Practices) you can pick up on Friday, September 6th at the front doors of the school. This is one of the best and biggest teams in sport - an incredible opportunity to be outside in the autumn colours and getting some exercise to re-energize! EVERYONE (Gr 6-9) is invited!
September 17-18 to June 5 - Instrumental Music with Corrina Jackson. Email cojackson@cbe.ab.ca. There will be an information package (Dates, Times, Practices, Clinicians) about grade 6-9 BAND ready for families to pick up at the front doors at the Welcome Back Celebration on June 6th. EVERYONE in grades 6-9 invited to participate!

March 31 - May 18 - Badminton Season for Grades 6-9. Paul Marlett will be sending information out about this team in February.
May 12 - June 15 - Track and Field Season for Grades 6-9. Cammy Krochak will be sending information out about this team in April.
Homeschool Facilitation Days (No classes at Windsor Park School) are for you to meet with your Homeschool Facilitator to review your child's progress in the homeschooling areas of study. Your Homeschool Facilitator will reach out to you to book these meetings. There are no classes happening at Windsor Park School during these days. August 29th, September 3rd-5th, November 7th and 14th, February 12th, 18th-20th, May 15th, June 16th-19th and 23rd-24th.
CBE Home Education ACTIVITY DAYS! These have been very popular in our community in the past and we know our students are curious about the dates! Please mark these dates in your calendar if you are interested in participating.
September 6 - Welcome Back Celebration 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
December 13 - Night of The Osprey - Showcasing all kinds of talent within the CBE Home Education Community. More information to come later.
January 24 - STE(A)M Day - Dedicated to our love for all things Science! More information to come later.
March 14 - Celebration of Learning - Showcasing the beauty and excellence in homeschooling! More information to come as the year progresses.
May 23 - Entrepreneurial Fair - Showcasing our innovative spirit to design, craft and inspire! More information to come as the year progresses.
Nov. 23 and March 7 - Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences - Meet your child's Windsor Park School teacher to review success/challenges happening in class. More information to come as the year progresses.
