Spooktacular Halloween Party | Thursday, Oct. 26 from 3:15- 4:30 p.m.
This event is open to all families from CBE Home Education and Shared Responsibility. Students attending Windsor Park School that day are welcome to wear a costume for the day or may change into their costume at 3:15 if that is more comfortable. As per every year, absolutely no props (brooms, knives, weapons, hammers, arrows, shovels, etc). Also, many requests from families and staff this year around cultural consideration. We ask that our families not dress up as the cultures of other people. As articulated by one of families, "[A person's cultural attire/dress/clothing] is their identity, [spirituality/history] and essence of who they are, not something to be used as a costume regardless of how fun the person dressing up thinks it is."
***Please note that some events, directed by volunteers, will be starting at 2:30 p.m. to ensure proper set-up, sound checking, decoration completion and organization. Also, important to note, Pick up for students not staying for the event will occur as usual at 3:15 p.m. Children in grades 1-5 who are staying for the event do require parent supervision from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Please feel free to bring a carved jack-o-lantern for our Best, Funniest, Goofiest, Scariest Pumpkin Contest. There will be a table at the front doors for the pumpkins.
There will be many activities to choose from during this event! Haunted House, Craft Room, Carved Jack-o-Lantern awards, a parade of costumes and The famous Monster Mash School Dance with guest DJ!
