Coffee and Conversations

Wednesday, January 17 in the Family Flex Room from 10-11:00 a.m. Trent Wilson, Speech-Language Therapist will give a brief talk about developing Literacy and red flags to watch for in children.  There will also be time for questions at the end of the presentation. 

Also, Thursday, January 18 in the Family Flex Room from 10-11:30 a.m. Lyndsay and Carley will be delivering a presentation on How To Create a Homeschool Progress Report for Parents/Guardians.   If you have questions about either session, please email Carley at CMJACKSON@cbe.ab.ca and/or Lyndsay at LMPRASAD@cbe.ab.ca. Homeschool Progress Reports are due to your facilitator prior to your Mid-Year Facilitation. See template under Resources.

Fun Lunch

Thank you so much for your support with December’s Healthy Hunger fun lunch. Considering it was our first go at it, I felt very encouraged by the participation and amount raised.  Two additional fun lunch events have been set up for January and February:  HealthyHunger.ca

• Mon / Tues Cohort - Jan 23 & Feb 20
• Wed / Thurs Cohort - Jan 24 & Feb 21

*orders must be in FIVE days before the event date.  No exceptions.  If you have yet to set up an account with Healthy Hunger, please follow the below link, and “Register Account” to “Create a New Parent Account”.  From here, you will be able to select the school, and the appropriate day based on the day that your child attends. Please then make your food selections, and checkout with payment.  The food will be delivered to the school before the kids break for lunch, and placed directly into their hungry hands! Please watch for future Healthy Hunger fun lunch dates, which will be posted on the white board at the front door of the school as soon as possible.

Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year 

Opens on January 15. A reminder that CBE Homeschool/Windsor Park families have to re-register each and every year.  Please submit your Government Notification Form and Expression of Interest Form to Cheryl at CLBURGESS@cbe.ab.ca. Forms can be found here --> Registration Forms

Open Houses at CBE Home Education and Windsor Park School 

We will be running Open Houses from January to April.  Please share this information on your social medica platforms where and when you can.  January 24 from 10-11:30 a.m.; February 28 from 10-11:30 a.m., March 19 10-11:30 a.m. and April 30 10-11:30 a.m.  These are drop-in and families will be given individual tours upon arrival.

High School Transfer Process opens February 1 - March 15

Application to Transfer. Some Programs, like the Fine and Performing Arts Program at Central Memorial High School, are accepting applications now.  Please make sure you have checked out your options and know when the deadlines are!  Contact Carrie Rowlandson at CEROWLANDSON@cbe.ab.ca if you have questions about your grade 9 student transitioning into high school next year.  NOTE: Your child will automatically be enrolled at their designated high school, so if they want to attend elsewhere, you do need to apply to transfer.
