Homeschoolers, Shared Responsibility and our Concurrent Families! Welcome to the new school year and our new space at Bel Aire School. We are beyond excited to work with all of you to build our vibrant community in our new spaces.
Some important dates and events coming up! Please SAVE these dates and mark them on your home calendar.
Friday, September 5 - Welcome Back Celebration
The Welcome Back Celebration is an opportunity not to be missed! The goal is to Foster A Sense of Community! Please come and see your NEW school, meet some new families, re-connect with families you know, enjoy connecting with your teachers and checking out your classrooms. There will also be activities set up to help you gain familiarity with Bel-Aire School. This is a day to get oriented, to enjoy and to have fun! EVERYONE is invited, however, we have set times for our cohorts due to limitations of parking!
Monday/Tuesday Families and 100% Homeschoolers - 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Please drop by Bel Aire School between 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. We do want to make a GREAT first impression with our NEW neighbours too, so please drive safely and only park in legal parking spaces. Please depart the school by 11:30 a.m. to make room for the next cohort arriving at noon for their orientation. We will be sending out a map next week to help you become familiar with traffic flow and available parking.
Wednesday/Thursday Families and 100% Homeschoolers - 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.

Bel-Aire Classes Starting Soon!
Monday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 10 - First Days of School. 9:30 a.m. Start and 3:15 p.m. Pick-Up. Watch for emails from your classroom teachers with details about your child's first day of classes. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have in-person parent/guardian assemblies as our gym is not ready yet for that kind of set up. In lieu of the traditional Assembly, we will be creating a video to send to all families in September with FAQ's and details about all things CBE Home Education and Shared Responsibility Programs.
School Council Meetings
Sept. 22, October 23, Nov. 20, Jan. 12, March 12, May 11 - School Council Meetings for parents and guardians from 10-11:00 a.m. in the Family Flex Room/Library - Detailed agendas and minutes with be sent in advance.
Extra-Curricular
Cross-Country Running Season is September 5 to October 1 - Grades 6-9. Email Jaylyn Potts at japotts@cbe.ab.ca for more information. Jaylyn will have an information package (Dates, Times, Practices) you can pick up on Friday, September 5 at the front doors of the school. This is one of the best and biggest teams in sport - an incredible opportunity to be outside in the autumn colours and getting some exercise to re-energize! EVERYONE (Grade 6-9) is invited!
Band for Grades 6-9 - Instrumental Music with Corrina Jackson. Email cojackson@cbe.ab.ca. There will be an information package (Dates, Times, Practices, Clinicians) about Grade 6-9 BAND ready for families to pick up at the front doors at the Welcome Back Celebration on June 5. EVERYONE in grades 6-9 invited to participate!

Other Important Dates throughout the School Year - Save the Dates!
March 30 - May 19 - Badminton Season for Grades 6-9. Mr. Colin and Ms. Sara will be sending information out about this team in February.
May 4 - June 14 - Track and Field Season for Grades 6-9. Ms. Cammy will be sending information out about this team in April.
Homeschool Facilitation Days (No classes at Bel-Aire School) are for you to meet with your Homeschool Facilitator to review your child's progress in the homeschooling areas of study. Your Homeschool Facilitator will reach out to you to book these meetings. There are no classes happening at Bel-Aire School during the following days: September 2-4, November 7, 13 and 14, February 17-20, May 14, June 15-26.
Nov. 21 and March 13 - Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences - Meet your child's Bel-Aire School teacher to review success/challenges happening in class. More information to come as the year progresses.
