Remembrance Day - November 11

“We ask today and every day, that we be mindful of working towards peace, towards reconciliation and diplomacy, of working towards harmony and friendship within your families, across communities, provinces and across nations.  We ask that together, we take moments to think about the critical hardships of war and those impacted by them.  We ask that we remain mindful of the people who served in times of conflict and those that serve today, of the ones who did not make it home, of the wounded, and of the families who have lost loved ones.  Through our thoughts, actions and words, let’s make sure that those who are serving and have served our country feel our care, concern and regard.”  We wish our families a thoughtful and reflective Remembrance Day on Saturday, November 11.

Dare to Care

An incredible resource for families!  We will have access to the Dare To Care Resources until June 15.  This resource helps families teach their children about the difference between disagreement and bullying and what to do when they are in situations of conflict.  This resource was garneered by our School Council.  This would be a great resource to use in your Homeschool Health and Wellness Classes and could be an addition to your Homeschool Learning Plan.  The reviews thus far from our families have been great!

Grade 9’s and Families of Grade 9’s – High School Orientation Meeting

The Topic will be High School Orientation, Program Options and Registration.  This meeting will take place In-Person at Windsor Park School – November 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Flex Room off of the main library.  

High School Open Houses 

For Grade 9 Students and Families. Most High Schools in Alberta offer Open Houses between November and February. Please visit school websites for more information.  High School Open Houses are a great way for students and their families to get an idea about the High School Experience and what makes each High School special and unique.

School Conferences

Shared Responsibility Families Only -  School Conferences occurring November 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and November 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  - You will be able to access the booking system starting on November 9th at 8:00 a.m. through to November 16th at 12:00 noon.  Book Your Conferences HERE    These conferences are in-person at Windsor Park School and are an opportunity for you to get a snapshot of your child's experience in their Windsor Park School classes.   Visit your MyCBE.ca account to book your conferences.

Winter Talent Show, Currently scheduled for December 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

Let’s come together to cheer on student performers and artists, and to enjoy our Community Pot Luck. CBE Home Education’s annual tradition of a Winter Talent Show encourages students to sing, play instruments, dance, perform martial arts, recite poetry, submit their latest artistic creation, recite a monologue, juggle and more!  There will be a detailed letter specifically for this event coming to you soon so that we can get planning for numbers of attendees and performers.  Watch for the Sign-Up Sheet in your child's backpack or via the next email from me.
