Our Autumn Learning Plan Workshop is here! 

Tuesday, October 22 from 10-11:30 a.m. please join us for a FUN, Collaborative and Engaging Workshop unpacking all of the ways a family can create a personalized Learning Plan for their child(ren).  Everyone is invited!  Whether you have a wealth of experience or no experience, this workshop will allow you to show, share and learn about the multiple ways you can create a Learning Plan that will work for you and your child.  this workshop will take place in the Family Flex Room.

Activities for Harvest and/or Halloween Week! October 28 to 31!  

Pumpkin/Squash Carving Contest

Please bring your carved pumpkin into the school on Monday or Wednesday morning and place on a table in the hallway.  An adult will register your entry into the competition between 9-9:30 a.m.  You are welcome to take your pumpkin home with you on Tuesday or Thursday at the end of the day or leave them for compost.  Winners will be announced the following week with the winning carvings posted on our school's Instagram. Categories This Year: "Funny", "Scary", "Creative/Innovative" and "Other".  

Costumes

Costumes can be worn on Tuesday, October 29 or Thursday, October 31.  Message from Teachers - Costumes should allow for the learning to continue in classroom and No props please.  Students will be invited to walk the stage in their costumes over the lunch break in the gym.  

Haunted House 

Volunteers will be building the haunted house in the Family Flex Room on October 24 and 25.  The theme this year is "Hilarious Haunts" - No Scary themes.  Students will be able to move around the Funny Haunted House with their teacher and try putting their hands in worms (spaghetti) and other mysterious bowls of goo (slime).  Families are welcome to come through too!  The Haunted House will be open on Tuesday (29th) and Thursday (31st).  Parents/Guardians who usually stay in the Flex Room will be welcome to find spaces in the Learning Commons/Library for the week. 

How Many Items are In the Jar? 

Students will each be able to cast a guess on how many items they believe are in our spooky jar.  Whoever guesses the closest will win a goody bag filled with Squishees and Bouncy Balls!  

School Dance

School Dance on Tuesday, October 29 from 3:15-4:30 p.m.  The Grade 7/8 student team organizing this dance wants EVERYONE to attend so they are calling this a "Dress-Up in Costume" dance.  They have planned to decorate the gym in Autumn Themes so that students who don't participate in Halloween Activities can also attend!  They hope EVERYONE - Homeschoolers and Windsor Park Attenders (Mon-Thurs) will ALL come to their dance!  Please Note: If your child is in grade 1-4, we will ask that a parent/guardian arrives at 3:10 to take their child to the gym for the dance.  Parents/Guardians of grade 1-4 children will need to stay for the entire time.  Little siblings are also welcome to attend with parents to supervise.  For Monday/Tuesday Cohort students not staying for the dance, teachers will be at the front doors at 3:15 to connect students will their families for regular pick-up routines. 

Photo Retake Day 

All Students (Homeschoolers and Windsor Park Attending) are welcome to come to Photo Retake Day on November 6 from 9:30-12:00 p.m.  Photos will be taken in the Library.   Go to www.Lifetouch.ca to view your child's photos or contact Lifetouch for assistance.

Fun Lunch

Order your Child's Fun Lunch through Healthy Hunger!  Make sure you choose the correct day for your child.  Registration is easy and you can find us when registering under, "Windsor Park School." www.healthyhunger.ca
