Coming Up in November | School Council, Coffee & Conversation, PD Day, Conferences, Reimbursement Form

Dear Families,

Thank you to all of our families who were able to attend the Spooktacular activities of Thursday afternoon.  It was a packed house with lots of food, dancing, pumpkins, costumes, activities, crafts and haunting!  A special Thank you to Sam who helped with the organiziation of the event's programming; Whitney, Josh and Calvin for running the haunted house; to Laurie, Colby and Sage for help setting up the Haunted house and running the Front of House and the Carved Pumpkin Contest; to Jennifer, our rocking DJ; to all the families who brought treats for the potluck, to the families who helped with supervision, to our staff for helping with everything from crafts and building mathematically minded spooky houses to music set-up AND to all of the families who came to enjoy!  Wishing everyone who will continue the celebrations into the 31st, a safe and happy Halloween.

School Council Meeting

TWO Coffee and Conversation Opportunities this month!

Coffee and Conversation: Wednesday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m in the Family Flex Room 

Fellow parent, Anne Marie Wetter, shares her and her child’s experience with University of Florida Literacy Institute's (UFLI) program for developing foundational reading skills. She'll share literacy resources, demonstrate a UFLI lesson, and take questions from parents.  This session is a MUST for families focusing on literacy and reading!

Coffee and Conversation: Wednesday November 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the Family Flex Room

Lindsay Law is running her Parenting from Trust Workshop.  She will share three conversation shifts that will communicate trust for your child and yourself.  In this workshop you will default responses that may be keeping you from connecting in deepeer ways with your child, understand how to create trust when you need it most and apply 3 communication tools that communicate trust, acceptance and connection.

November 9 is CBE's System-Wide Indigenous Learning Day for All Staff

There is no school for students on this day.

November 10-14

CBE Schools are Closed for "Fall Break"

November 17 - School Conferences! 

These conferences are a chance for parents/guardians to book a 10 minute meeting with thier child's Windsor Park teacher.  The link to book on School Conference Manager, the platform where parents/guardians can book their meetings, will be sent out this week.

Reimbursement Form

November 1 2023 to April 1st 2024 - You may submit your request for reimbursement form to your Homeschool Facilitator. This is the form to use:  See Resources.

Please ensure the form, with accompanying receipts, are all in ONE file.  Please do not send your facilitator the form in one file and the receipts in other files.  If you need clarification on what is allowed to be claimed, please see the following Alberta Education Home Education Regulations for Reimbursements.
